Dr. Uppal comes to Arizona to join Pinnacle Injury Care after completing fellowship and residency training in interventional pain medicine and anesthesiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He also served as a research assistant, publishing two studies on the management of post-cervical laminectomy fusion pain syndrome and the difficult removal of exposed peripheral nerve stimulator leads. Dr. Uppal graduated from medical school at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. Prior to his medical training, Dr. Uppal studied at Cornell University where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology Health and Society.
Dr. Uppal is committed to providing personalized and comprehensive pain management care that respects the unique needs of each patient. He is well-trained in both medical management and interventional pain procedures including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulators, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), and stem cell therapies.
He has great interest in treating patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and diabetic neuropathy, but also commonly treats conditions such as spinal stenosis, herniated discs, facet arthropathy, sciatica, and degenerative disc disease.
Outside of the office, Dr. Uppal enjoys traveling to new places with family and friends, playing basketball and golf.
